Patrice Springer Art
“My paintings are inspired by the rich colors and textures of the Southwest. I use acrylic on canvas and board. I like to put down color as I see it, even if I don’t mix or blend it. I love to watch the shapes build into something brand new.”
Patrice is a native of Culver City, California. She studied art at Santa Monica College, Woodbury University, UCLA and California State University at Northridge where she received her BA in Fine Arts. Right now, Patrice draws her artistic inspiration from the architecture of the California Missions, Santa Fe and the adobes of New Mexico. Her paintings not only show their beauty, but also create a feeling of peace and contentment, much like the missions themselves. She applies acrylic on canvas and board to put down layers of paint to achieve texture which makes the color appear pure and bright. Patrice’s work has been exhibited at the Alta Dena Town and Country Club and The Word is Art in Culver City. Her work has been seen in The Argonaut, a Southern California newspaper, and on the Del Rey Art Walk in Del Rey, California. She has also been commissioned to create paintings of people’s homes and other personal memories which she does using only a photograph. She is a member of The California Art Club.
